How to Care for Synthetic Menus

Our synthetic menus are a popular product with our restaurant customers due to their water resistance and durability. In order to get the most bang for your buck out of our synthetic menus, there are important considerations when cleaning.

Synthetic Menu Do’s

  1. Hand wash

  2. Wash with lukewarm water

  3. Use gentle soap to disinfect

  4. Use a soft cloth

Synthetic Menu Do Not’s

  1. Don’t use industrial cleaning equipment to wash

  2. Don’t use hot water

  3. Don’t use harsh cleaning agents such as bleach, tabletop cleaners, etc.

  4. Don’t use tough scrubbing tools such as steel wool, scrub brushes, etc.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long will synthetic menus last?

It really depends on your turnover, how they're handled, and how they're cleaned. Some clients order every 3 months, some every couple of years. Following these care instructions will help them last longer.

Most of our clients are satisfied with our standard synthetic stock’s performance and price point. Some of our clients with higher-traffic restaurants prefer our premium synthetic as it holds up a little longer.

2. Is there anything more durable than synthetic?

For our clients with heavy use, we recommend doing a sealed laminate which adds a plastic barrier that protects the print. If synthetic is preferred, there are alternative options to cut down on wear, such as reordering more often and ordering a higher quantity of menus to be rotated out more often.
